january 2013

Anjani will be speaking on giving and philanthropy, as well as singing a couple of her songs, at the PURE Philanthropy Conference 2013 on February 7 and 8 in Toronto. PURE Philanthropy is a new, unique and exclusive think-tank conference bringing together the minds of fundraising innovators, game-changing philanthropists and emerging social thought leaders in the rapidly evolving new paradigm of philanthropy in Canada and around the world. This is a forward-looking summit, designed to move away from the traditional format of delivering information at you and instead focus on creating an interactive experience with you, where the participants can walk away feeling energized, engaged and motivated to re-think their role in philanthropy.

may 2012

Anjani has written a piece for "Gathered Light: The Poetry of Joni Mitchell's Songs," to be published by Three O'Clock Press of Toronto (publication date to be determined). The book is a compilation of original essays, poetry, short fiction, and a few original photographs, paintings, and collages. Each contributor shares his or her connection to, interpretation of, and inspiration from their favorite Mitchell poem. Many comment on a larger societal or political issue explored therein. All share their experiences of why Joni's work has been so important to them, and in doing so, touch yet transcend the personal.

"Blazes" is the vision of Lisa and John Sornberger, who created this project to honor Joni as one of the finest poets of our time. "We expect the result will be a meeting of the minds and hearts of those everywhere who have been moved by Mitchell's poetry."

spring 2011

Anjani will be a musical guest at The Glenn Gould Gala Concert in honour of Leonard Cohen. At this special evening at Massey Hall in Toronto on May 14, 2012, Leonard will receive the Glenn Gould Prize. It promises to be an exciting and memorable evening.

winter 2011

we are nearing the finish of this record, and it's been an incredible experience to work with Jerry Marotta at Dreamland Studio. we've added the guitars and background vocals, and there are just a few other sweetening elements left to track. we are very happy with it so far. the homestretch is an elusive goal but at some point, we have to close the book on this and move on to the next project.

after making it through the hurricane and the Halloween snowstorm, i've burrowed deeply into life in Woodstock. Having lived for so long in Los Angeles, country life offers a welcome respite.
O bliss, to see the stars again...to drive home on a moonless night and stumble through the dark to my front door. i fight a losing battle with field mice in the kitchen and watch wild turkeys flapping about in horror as i surprise them in a meadow. tie dye never left here...neither did a sense of family and safety, nestled as we are in a bowl of landscape feng shui perfection.
